PPO Plan Benefits Through Humana

One of the benefits of enrolling in a Humana Medicare Advantage PPO plan is that you will have access to a network of doctors and hospitals. This means that you can receive care from in-network providers without having to worry about balance billing. In addition, you may also be able to see out-of-network providers, although you may have to pay more for their services.

Another benefit of PPO plans is that they offer more flexibility when it comes to choosing your doctor. With an HMO plan, you are typically assigned a primary care physician (PCP) and must get a referral from them to see a specialist. However, with a PPO plan, you can see any in-network provider without a referral.

Finally, PPO plans often have lower deductibles than HMO plans. This means that you will likely have to pay less out-of-pocket for your healthcare costs. Humana PPO Plans offer some additional benefits which may include:

  • Coverage for dental, hearing, and vision care
  • Prescription drug coverage 4
  • Gym and wellness program memberships
  • Access to Mail-order pharmacies that ship to your home

Numerous annual preventive tests and screenings are covered in full at no additional cost to members. In-network home healthcare may also be offered.

The prescription drug coverage that is offered by certain Humana PPO plans is equal to – or even better than – the standard requirement for Medicare Part D prescription drug plans.

How do Network providers work with Humana’s PPO Plan?

Humana’s PPO plans have a broad network of providers for their clients to choose from. As a member of this plan, you can visit in-network providers of your choice and in addition, you can also see providers that are outside of the plan’s network. This is only if the Doctor is approved by Medicare and accepts Humana’s plan terms.

Again this plan can be used nationally with Doctors that accept Humana PPO and the perk that many of the plans come in at a zero premium is also a huge bonus.
