What does the future me want to look back and see?   

The years have flown by fast, I wonder how the time came and went.  My reflection in the mirror portrays a proud persona of experience and wisdom. I watch as today’s youth encounter challenges and drive towards achievements as I have in the past.

I see the excitement in their eyes driven by curiosity and hope; with a mission to change the world.  I see mistakes being made, many I’ve seen before.  I watch as my grandchildren playfully tease me with their tricks, thinking I won’t notice. I guess in their minds, I was never that age before.

And I laugh. Yes, I laugh inside and let it go. I love to see them learn and grow.  Life teaches both good and bad, but it teaches. Who am I to hinder this learning? I’ve created my own legacy due to the decisions and history I’ve made.

Pandemics, crises, and wars, I’ve seen plenty. Vaccination for the COVID-19 virus promises to protect us. But how do we navigate through the uncertain times in our life? This type of vaccine has been in my system for a long time.

 And I laugh. Yes, I laugh inside and let it go. Young people are terrified by a paradigm shift in their routine. They have no idea how many of those paradigms I’ve gone through. In America, we are made to be resilient, solid, and strong! Ready for anything coming our way.
